Someone who is always there, a shoulder to cry on, someone to laugh with, with shared morals and values. Having a best friend is a beautiful thing…right?
He/she “B” is a major advocate for a British intervention in an ongoing humanitarian crisis that will inevitably start a war in an unnamed country. “A” thought she/he knew her “best friend” better than that and is beginning to realise that they may in fact hate everything about each other!
As the conflict abroad plays out, so too does the conflict between these best friends. Throw in a drinking problem, the weight of the world, crippling loneliness, and an insufferable girlfriend, and the wedge begins to grow.
An Intervention is an hilariously tragic exploration of the complexity of relationships and the responsibility that friends have for each other.
